6 Types of Warehouse Storage System

2. Static Shelving: - This form of a storage system is ideal for storing lightweight inventory that is usually hand-picked by employees and is continuously replenished. As a static shelving system does not make use of a forklift to store inventory, it is not feasible for storing heavy items at all.
3. Mobile Shelving: - This form of a storage system is very common among large warehouses where inventory is either hand-picked or through the use of forklifts. Cabin made up of metals are mounted on a rail system which enables quick movement of stored items from the upper shelf to lower ones, thus enabling the quicker process.
4. Multi-Tier Racking: - Storage of large stock with small unit size must be done in a multi-tier racking system to enable easy access to stored items. Inventory must be stored compactly in this type of storage to achieve efficient storage as such storage spaces can only store inventory up to a certain predefined level and any form of overloading must be avoided.
   
5. Wire Partitions: - Such a storage system is used in storing inventory that requires additional safety. These wire partitions are not permanent and can be broken down to move to some other place. Wire density and cage size depends on the size of goods to be stored inside.
6. Mezzanine Flooring: - A slightly expensive storage form, that is widely used to store a large quantity of inventory at the same place. This form of storage creates an additional level over and above the basic level of storage to create additional space.
